Thursday the Band 6.7.26

New Jersey hardcore legends Thursday

closed out their tour at the Bearsville Theater tonight.

Formed in New Brunswick in 1997, Thursday emerged from the DIY basement, VEW hall, and club scene that helped define a generation of underground music.

With the release of Full Collapse in 2001, featuring songs like "Understanding in a Car Crash" and "Cross Out the Eyes," they became one of the most important and influential bands of the hardcore movement.

Their follow-up, War All the Time, debuted in the Billboard Top 10.

Photographing them tonight at Bearsville felt like witnessing a piece of New Jersey music history.

As someone who grew up in Central Jersey, Thursday was always more than just another band. They were ours. Their music was woven into the local scene, the clubs, the basements, late night drives, and the stories that came out of our corner of the state.

Seeing them bring that energy to Bearsville tonight, decades after it all began, was something special.

A powerful ending to tour, and a reminder of how far music can travel with you while still feeling like home.
